Queen Mary's Ponds Permits
As was announced at this year's Annual General Meeting, Joan Atkinson
has stepped down from the role of Assistant Secretary from the end of
2017. Joan has carried out the role for the last 40 years, issuing
thousands of permits for waters including Queen Mary's Ponds and Leckby Palace.
Our thanks go to Joan for all her hard work over many years and a
presentation of flowers was made at this year's AGM. She will still be
involved in the club as a vice president.
From 2018, Matt Foster has been elected to take over the reigns as
Assistant Secretary, which includes issuing permits for Queen Mary's
Ponds, night permits for the River Swale at Maunby (top stretch) and
selling privilege tickets. There will be a slight change to the way
permits for Queen Mary's ponds are issued from January 1st 2018 with the
introduction of an online system. The current postal system will remain
in place as usual with applications to be sent to Matt Foster, whose
address is in the yearbook. Permits will also now be available online on
www.bradfordno1.com/ripon.html
with permits then emailed to the member to be either printed or a
screenshot taken on their phone to show bailiffs at the venue. The
parking permit in the back of the yearbook must be displayed in vehicles
at all times while at the water. Online applications can be made at any
time before visiting the water, making it easier for short notice
fishing trips, but members are advised to book as early as possible to
avoid disappointment. Postal applications should be sent at least 7 days
prior to the dates required to enable a permit to be sent back.
